Scary-Skinny Richard Simmons Stirs the Web

Chaz Bono wasn't the only one catching buzz on "Dancing With the Stars." The exercise guru from the '80s, Richard Simmons, who appeared on the episode as the contestant's coach -- and helped Bono grab the night's top score -- also caught the attention of viewers.

But that wasn't necessarily a good thing. The health nut looked unhealthy, which caused chatter on the Web. Worried watchers wondered if the 63-year-old, who appeared in a gold lamé onesie with visibly thinning hair, looked even skinnier than usual -- and possibly ill.

One commenter on the Us Weekly website noted, "I was shocked when I saw him last night." Another agreed, adding, "Hope he is well."

The outpouring of concern even caused Simmons's rep to state, "He's the healthiest he's ever been. He is completely healthy, happy, and fit as a fiddle." The rep added, "Everything with him could not be better."

True to form, the fitness icon radiated his usual level of extreme excitement. He tweeted, "Thank you for your kind words about my cameo on DWTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was so much fun to tape. Have not seen it yet!"

Searches on Yahoo! in the last seven days surged on "richard simmons costume," "richard simmons Halloween costume," "richard simmons sparkly tank top," and "richard simmons shorts." So expect some scary-skinny look-alikes come Halloween.
